Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (B.ASLP)<\/strong> is a professional undergraduate program designed to prepare students to work as <strong>Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists<\/strong> in clinical, educational, healthcare, industrial, and community settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program provides comprehensive knowledge and practical training in the assessment, diagnosis, management, rehabilitation, and prevention of disorders related to <strong>hearing, speech, language, swallowing, and communication<\/strong> across the lifespan.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Objectives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Graduates of the B.ASLP program will be equipped to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work as Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists across diverse professional settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, swallowing, hearing, and communication disorders across the lifespan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide rehabilitation and therapeutic services to individuals with communication and hearing disorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Counsel individuals with communication disorders and their family members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and implement preventive measures for speech, language, swallowing, and hearing disorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with professionals from allied healthcare and related fields.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct public awareness and community education programs related to communication and hearing health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advocate for the needs, rights, and well-being of class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Candidates seeking admission to the B.ASLP program must have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passed <strong>10+2 or an equivalent examination<\/strong>, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successfully completed <strong>two years of Pre-University\/Pre-Degree education<\/strong> conducted by the recognized Pre-University Board of the respective state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The candidate should have studied at least one of the following subjects along with the required qualifying subjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Physics, Chemistry and Biology \/ Mathematics \/ Computer Science \/ Statistics \/ Electronics \/ Psychology \/ Home Science.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lateral Entry<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lateral entry into the <strong>second year<\/strong> of the B.ASLP program may be permitted as per the applicable Bengaluru City University regulations for candidates who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have successfully completed the <strong>Diploma in Hearing-Language-Speech (DHLS)<\/strong> revised course from an <strong>RCI-recognized training institute<\/strong> with the required science background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have <strong>two years of relevant work experience<\/strong> in the field.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Age Limit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The candidate should <strong>not be more than 25 years of age as on 1 July<\/strong> of the year of admission.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duration of the Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The B.ASLP program is of <strong>four academic years<\/strong>, including <strong>one year of clinical internship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The program consists of <strong>six academic semesters followed by a one-year clinical internship<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each academic year consists of two semesters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each semester extends for a minimum of <strong>16 weeks<\/strong>, excluding examination days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The program should normally be completed within <strong>six years from the date of admission<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The academic calendar and semester schedule shall follow the regulations of <strong>Bengaluru City University<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Attendance Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students must maintain the following minimum attendance requirements to be eligible to appear for university examinations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Theory:<\/strong> Minimum 80%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clinical\/Practical:<\/strong> Minimum 90%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who fail to meet the required attendance criteria will not be permitted to appear for the respective examinations and may be required to repeat the particular semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Condonation of shortage of attendance, wherever applicable, shall be subject to the rules and approval of the <strong>Vice-Chancellor of the respective Audiology<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Examination &amp; Passing Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students are required to secure a <strong>minimum of 50%<\/strong> in each applicable component, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Theory examinations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internal assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practical examinations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clinical examinations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students must successfully complete the required practical, internal assessment, and clinical components to be eligible for the university theory examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students must also successfully complete the clinical examination of the respective semester before progressing to the next semester.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carry-Over Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each theory paper must be successfully completed within <strong>three attempts, including the first attempt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students will be eligible to commence the clinical internship only after successfully clearing all examinations up to the <strong>sixth semester<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clinical Internship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the B.ASLP program, students are required to complete a <strong>one-year clinical internship of approximately 10 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The internship provides supervised clinical experience and helps students develop practical competencies in the assessment, diagnosis, management, rehabilitation, and counselling of individuals with speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Certification<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon successful completion of the prescribed academic requirements, clinical examinations, and internship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The college will issue the required certificate upon successful completion of the internship and clinical requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervised clinical hours completed during the internship will be documented as part of the student&#8217;s clinical competency certification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The University will award the <strong>B.ASLP degree<\/strong> after successful completion of the required clinical internship and academic
