Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.ASLP)
The Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) program is designed to prepare students to become competent, ethical, and compassionate professionals in the field of communication sciences and disorders. The key objectives of the program are to:
- Provide a Strong Foundation in the basic sciences, human communication, and clinical aspects of audiology and speech-language pathology.
- Develop Diagnostic and Therapeutic Skills to assess, manage, and rehabilitate individuals with speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
- Foster Interdisciplinary Understanding of healthcare and rehabilitation through collaborations with related fields such as medicine, psychology, special education, and linguistics.
- Ensure Ethical and Professional Conduct by instilling values of empathy, responsibility, and respect for individuals with communication disorders.
- Equip Students with Clinical Competence through supervised hands-on training in assessment, diagnosis, and therapy in both institutional and community settings.
- Promote Community-Based Rehabilitation by engaging students in outreach programs and public awareness initiatives, especially in underserved areas.
- Encourage Evidence-Based Practice and Lifelong Learning to keep pace with evolving scientific knowledge and technological advancements.
- Prepare Students for Higher Education and Research by providing a robust academic foundation that supports advanced studies in audiology, speech-language pathology, and related disciplines.
- Duration of the Program:
- The program shall be of 4 academic years including 1 year internship and should be completed within 6 years from the date of admission
- There shall be exams conducted at the end of each semester
