Overview
The Community Health Nursing Department is dedicated to preparing nursing students to serve individuals, families, and communities beyond the hospital setting.
The department focuses on preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative aspects of healthcare, aiming to reduce illness, promote well-being, and enhance quality of life in diverse community settings.
Students gain rich field experience through rural and urban health postings, health surveys, organizing awareness camps, and collaborating with government and non-government agencies. Through this, they develop a deep understanding of public health policies, epidemiology, environmental health, and social determinants of health.

Objectives
- To train students in health assessment and community diagnosis for individuals, families, and populations.
- To develop skills for planning, implementing, and evaluating community-based health interventions and health education.
- To cultivate understanding of epidemiology, environmental sanitation, and communicable disease control.
- To empower students to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and local health authorities.
- To instil values of social responsibility, cultural sensitivity, and ethical practice in community health.
