Overview
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing Department focuses on training students to deliver comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to women across all stages of life — from adolescence to menopause, including antenatal, intra-natal, postnatal, and gynaecological care.
Through theory classes, simulation-based training, and clinical postings in maternity hospitals and community settings, students gain practical skills in:
- Conducting antenatal assessments
- Assisting normal and complicated deliveries
- Postnatal care and newborn care
- Counselling on reproductive health, family planning, and safe motherhood
The department emphasizes women-centred care, cultural competence, and ethical practice.
